"Renting is more compatible with our financial situation than a substantial "buy-in." As healthy octogenarians, we'd like to stay connected and as independent as possible. We are excited about the concept of "new urbanism" and to see how it plays out with our Elmwood Avenue neighbors. With no immediate family in the Rochester area, we find comfort in an extended community that can provide multiple levels of care, if needed.
In choosing a new home, location became decisive. Both graduates of Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, Brickstone is within walking distance from a place we still frequent. As I am a retired University of Rochester Medical Center general surgeon, I value the fact that Brickstone is a short distance from the medical facilities we might need someday."
